Hello,

Can you tell me which Swiss bank will let me make recurring payments to Georgia without charging me for this service (or charging very low fees)?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Here are a few general tips:

Always order international money transfers online if possible. Depending on the type of transaction being made, odering international money transfers online is often notably cheaper. Many banks add charges of 20 francs or more when you order transactions over the phone or by fax.

Transfers made using the international giro transfer type can take several days to clear. A special "urgent" option allows for faster transfers, but these transfers cost more.

In order to set up a recurring transaction from a Swiss bank you will normally need to have a private account (a checking account). It is a good idea to ask banks exactly what you can expect to pay for a recurring transaction to another country before you set up the transactions.

The private account comparison on moneyland.ch makes it easy to find out which accounts are generally cheap for international transfers. The costs of international transfers are shown in the fields "Non-SEPA payment (abroad)" and "SEPA payment" on individual product information pages (click on the "info" links to see these). SEPA transfers can be made from Switzerland to Euro-zone countries.

Best regards from Moneyguru

Sending money to Georgia, whether you're referring to the U.S. state of Georgia or the country of Georgia in Eastern Europe, can be done using various methods, depending on your location and the recipient's location. Here are some common ways to send money to both places:

Sending Money to the U.S. State of Georgia:

Bank Transfer:

If you and the recipient both have bank accounts in the U.S., you can use a bank transfer (ACH transfer) to send money to Georgia.

You will need the recipient's bank account details, including their account number and routing number.

Online Money Transfer Services:

Services like PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or Wise allow you to send money to individuals in Georgia or anywhere else in the U.S.

You can link your bank account or debit/credit card to these services to send money.

Checks or Money Orders:

You can send a personal check or a money order through postal mail to the recipient's address in Georgia.

Sending Money to the Country of Georgia (Eastern Europe):

Bank Transfer:

For international transfers to Georgia, you can use a bank wire transfer through your bank or an international money transfer service like Wise (TransferWise), OFX, or XE.

You will need the recipient's bank account details, including their IBAN (International Bank Account Number).

Online Money Transfer Services:

Online transfer services can also be used to send money to Georgia. Services like Wise offer competitive exchange rates and lower fees.

You'll need the recipient's bank account details and the bank's SWIFT/BIC code for international transfers.

Western Union or MoneyGram:

These international money transfer companies have agent locations worldwide, including Georgia.

You can send money online or visit a local agent to send cash to a recipient in Georgia.

Cryptocurrency Transfers:

If both you and the recipient are familiar with cryptocurrencies, you can use Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to send money internationally.

Before sending money, ensure you have the correct recipient's details, including their bank account information and any required identification. Also, consider the fees, exchange rates, and transfer times associated with the chosen method.

For international transfers, it's essential to provide accurate information and be aware of any potential fees and currency conversion costs. Additionally, consider the security and reputation of the service you choose for your money transfer.
