I want to invest on the stock market, but as a matter of principle I prefer investing in small and medium sized businesses. That rules out major stock exchanges like SIX and NASDAQ. Are there any stock exchanges which list smaller businesses?

The BX Berne eXchange lists medium-sized Swiss companies, making it an interesting alternative to SIX for those looking to invest in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). You can get more information in our guide to trading on the Berne eXchange.

Further afield, the Alternate Investment Market (AIM) in the UK, the Mittelstandsbörse Deutschland in Germany, TSX Ventures in Canada, NPEX in the Netherlands, the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) in Hong Kong, MOTHERS in Japan, Chinext in China and Catalist in Singapore are all examples of exchanges which list small and mid-sized companies with growth potential.
