I have been a member of TCS for several years because I like the idea of getting roadside assistance if my car breaks down. The thing is, I was going over my car insurance policy and noticed that I also get roadside assistance from my car insurance!

Now I need to know whether it is worth keeping my motoring club membership or just relying on the coverage I get from my car insurance.

Greetings,

A good first step would be to review the exact terms and conditions of both your TCS membership agreement and your insurance policy to find out exactly what is covered by each. If the roadside assistance coverage which you get from your car insurance policy covers your needs, then having TCS membership as well probably is not worth it.

However - depending on your driving habits - keeping your motor club membership may be a smart move. For example if your car insurance policy has low coverage limits or poor international coverage, the right motorclub membership can extend those benefits to provide the coverage you need.
