What can the UBS Twint app do? Does it cost anything? Are there limits to its use? Has anyone here used it? Would you recommend it?

Hi there,

The TWINT app, a mobile wallet which is also offered by UBS, is free of charge. This applies to both the app and its related services.

You can use TWINT to send and receive money directly to and from your private account. You can also link a credit card or prepaid card to the app. Some merchants let you use TWINT to settle payments at their POS terminals. However, many Swiss merchants do not currently accept TWINT payments.

Transactions are only limited by the limits which apply to your private account, credit card or prepaid card. At UBS, the standard monthly limit for outgoing transactions is 3000 francs, and that for incoming transactions is 4000 francs.

Best regards from Moneyguru
