Do any Swiss insurers offer universal term life? If so, how do Swiss policies work? What is universal life called locally?
Hi there,
Most Swiss life insurance providers offer at least one form of permanent life insurance. Some of these share characteristics of universal life insurance. Dynamic life insurance, for example, allows the policyholder to increase the death benefit (and subsequently the premiums) throughout the life of the policy.
While there may be special use cases for permanent life insurance, we generally recommend the use of separate term life insurance and savings/investment solutions. The reason for this is that the administrative costs of permanent life insurance (in addition to the life insurance premiums and cash value savings contributions) are typically high.
