Hi there,

The majority of newly-issued Visa credit cards from Swiss issuers include contactless functionality. The contactless logo (a series of waves) is printed on the face of Visa credit cards which include this functionality. You cannot normally disable the contactless function on credit cards.

Swiss law limits contactless purchases without authentication to a maximum of 40 Swiss francs per transaction. You can use the contactless function to make larger purchases, but you will need to enter a PIN.

Visa debit cards (V-Pay) may also include the contactless function. Many Swiss banks will disable this function for debit cards upon request.

Best regards from Moneyguru
