Futures Exchange

A futures exchange is a securities exchange which facilitates the creation, buying, selling and trading of futures.

Some stock exchanges, including the SIX Swiss Exchange, incorporate futures exchange components, allowing investors to trade futures on those exchanges. Other exchanges specialize in futures trading.

Examples of dedicated futures exchanges include the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Eurex, the London Metal Exchange (LME), the Dalian Commodity Exchange, the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the Taiwan Futures Exchange (Taifex) and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX).
