The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) was founded in Dublin in 1793, and switched from a trading-floor based market to a fully electronic market based on the ISE Xetra system in 2000. It now lists over 50 companies including a number of Irish multinationals. In addition to stocks, investment funds and ETFs from issuers in numerous countries, the exchange also hosts numerous debt contracts on its Global Exchange Market.

The ISEQ® Benchmark Index (ISEQ:IND) is the primary indicator of the Irish stock market's performance.
