The Bolsa de Madrid is the largest stock exchange in Spain, and was founded in 1831. Contracts traded on the Madrid Stock Exchange include shares, ETFs, warrants and funds. Over 150 companies are listed on the exchange, among them most of Spain’s globally active companies. The Madrid Stock Exchange is part of the Grupo Bolsas Mercados Españoles (BME), a collective which includes all four of the country’s stock exchanges. The IBEX index published by the BME is Spain’s most important stock market index.
