The Nigerian Stock Exchange is one of the largest stock exchanges on the African continent in terms of volume, and lists more than 180 companies. Over 200 financial services providers participate in the exchange.
The exchange operates on an automated trading system using a central order book, with trades being executed on a price, cross and time priority. The Nigerian Stock Exchange facilitates trades in shares, bonds, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs) – including mortgage REITs, equity REITs and hybrid REITs.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange Main-Board Index (NGSEINDX) tracks the performance of key stocks listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
