UPC

UPC previously operated under the Cablecom brand. Cablecom was established in 1994 by the merger of Rediffusion with other cable network operators.

With a landline market share of 8.2 percent and a broadband market share of 15.6 percent, UPC is the second-largest Swiss service provider in these sectors. Up until now, UPC has not played a significant role in the mobile telecoms sector.

UPC is also the largest cable network operator in Switzerland. The company offers cable TV, landline, broadband and mobile plans. UPC runs its own cable network for landline and broadband connections, and also leases optical fiber infrastructure from Swisscom in some regions. From 2019, UPC's mobile services will run on the Swisscom network (UPC has used the Salt mobile network).

The mobile plans from UPC are available countrywide, while fixed line connections are only available in buildings equipped with UPC cable connections. UPC services are also offered by partner networks and can be accessed through optical fiber networks in some regions.
