Automated Teller Machine (ATM)

An automated teller machine or ATM is a machine which performs many of the tasks performed by conventional bank tellers.

Typical functions of an ATM include money withdrawals, bank balance checks and bank statement delivery. ATMs may also be equipped to allow users to make cash deposits, request wire transfers, set up direct debit orders or cash checks.

Functions of ATMs are typically accessed using an ATM card or a debit card. ATMs can also be used to access credit card functions such as balance checks and cash advances. Some ATMs allow authentication by other means such as smartphone or biometrics.
