Cable networks are networks made up of coaxial cables and distribution points which transmit electric signals for reproduction at multiple end points.
More than 200 service providers, including UPC and Quickline, operate cable networks in Switzerland.
Cable networks can be used to deliver television broadcasts, video on demand, broadband Internet, landline telephone connections and radio broadcasts, among others.
A cable connection is connected to a single cable network. In Switzerland, separate cable networks typically operate in separate regions. This means that the cable connection in your home will normally be linked to the cable service which operates the cable network in your region.
