Does anyone here use a Centurion card from American Express? What criteria did you need to meet to get the card? What are the costs and benefits and how do they compare?

Hi there,

In Switzerland the American Express Centurion Card, commonly referred to as the American Express Black Card, is issued by Swisscard AECS. The card has an annual fee of 4200 Swiss francs and is offered on an invitation-only basis. This fee covers 2 primary cards, 1 supplementary card, and 4 additional American Express cards.

Swisscard does not reveal a great deal of information about the Centurion Card, and American Express is generally secretive about the benefits provided by the card. Centurion cardholders benefit from a number of benefits which aren't offered by the Platinum Card from American Express, including extensions to the standard Membership Rewards program (Centurion Selection) and an exclusive concierge service.

Basic Centurion Card fees:
Replacement card: Free of charge.
Cash advance fee: 4% (minimum 5 francs) in Switzerland and abroad.
Foreign transaction fee: 1.75%.
Monthly card statements: Free of charge. Supplementary statements are also free of charge. No extra charge for international postage.

Best regards from Moneyguru
