Hi Moneyguru,

Can you tell me whether glasses and contacts are covered by health insurance in Switzerland?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes, but only for children aged 18 years old or younger. In that case, compulsory Swiss health insurance covers up to 180 Swiss francs of the cost of contact lenses and glasses every year. You will need to get a prescription from an eye doctor every year in which you want to claim this benefit.

Best regards from Moneyguru
