I missed a couple of car insurance premiums during a dry financial spell and now I received a letter from the traffic office insisting that I turn over my car papers and license plates. How does that make sense? I imagined the insurance company would hound me for payment, but not that they would make it impossible for me to drive.

Any suggestions on how I should deal with this?

Hi there,

Failure to pay premiums for compulsory liability car insurance can result in your license plates being confiscated by relevant authorities to prevent you from using public roads without proper insurance.
