What is the best Swiss health insurance for young adults? Is there a particular insurance company which you would recommend for young people? Any special deals or discounts?

Hi there,

Compulsory Swiss health insurance always provides the same coverage, regardless of your age. There are differences in how claims are settled (read about these here), but the coverage is identical.

Comparing Swiss insurance policies using the unbiased health insurance comparison on moneyland.ch is the easiest way to find the cheapest policy. If you are generally healthy and have few or no medical expenses, using the cheapest possible insurance policy and choosing the highest deductible (2500 francs) can cut your premiums in a big way and save you a lot of money.

If you want extra coverage - like coverage for gym memberships, travel medical insurance or contact lenses - a supplementary health insurance policy may be the solution.

You can use the interactive supplemental health insurance comparison to filter and sort optional insurance policies based on the benefits you want. Detailed information about coverage and limits is shown on individual information pages (click on the "info" links on policies).
