My wealthy and childless aunt is likely to pass away soon and because of our family structure, a large number of people have some claim to an inheritance. Is there a municipal office which administrates the distribution of inheritances? Having it all happen automatically would be much more ideal than having to sort it out between the many people involved (some live on the other side of the country and we don’t exactly get on well).

Unfortunately for you, there is not a municipal office which handles the distribution of inheritances.

It is strongly recommended that all of those involved hire a lawyer or inheritance expert and have them legislate the distribution of assets. Doing this saves time and energy, and helps prevent confrontation between the parties involved.
