How does the contactless function work with regards to Mastercard credit cards issued in Switzerland? What are the limits, terms and conditions?
Hi there,
The majority of Mastercard credit cards issued in Switzerland now include contactless payment functionality. It normally cannot be disabled. Unauthenticated contactless payments are limited by Swiss law. The highest payment you can make without entering a PIN is 40 Swiss francs.
Mastercard debit cards (Maestro) issued by Swiss banks may also include contactless functionality, although many banks let you disable this function.
