I am self-employed part time (30%) and also have a part-time job (70% to 80%). My question is: can I pay the high amount for self-employed people into my 3a retirement accounts because I am registered as self-employed, or only the small amount for employees because I am also employed?

Hi there,

If you earn enough through your part-time employment to make you eligible to pay 2a pension fund contributions - which is probably the case if you work 70% to 80% - your contribution to a 3a retirement savings solution cannot exceed the maximum for 2a pension fund participants (in 2017 the limit is CHF 6768).

Best regards from Moneyguru
