Are there any Swiss websites which offer peer to peer mortgages? If so, are they cheaper or easier to get than mortgages from banks or insurance companies?

Hi there,

Peer to peer mortgages are a relatively new concept, and very few Swiss P2P mortgage platforms exist (Hyposcout is currently the only true peer to peer mortgage platform). Some peer to peer platforms, like Cashare, broker mortgages from bank partners.

The advantage of peer to peer mortgages is that you may find an investor who is willing to lend you a mortgage at a lower rate than you could get from a bank, insurance provider or pension fund. You may also be able to obtain a mortgage even if you do not meet the strict affordability criteria used by institutional lenders. The disadvantage of peer to peer mortgages is that private lenders are not supervised or regulated by FINMA or self-regulating associations.

Investments in peer to peer mortgages yield lower interest than investments in peer to peer loans, but your investment is secured by a property.

Best regards from Moneyguru
