Can I continue contributing to my Swiss pillar 3a retirement savings accounts after I retire? I plan to retire early but have enough income so I would rather continue taking advantage of the tax benefits of 3a savings.

Hi there,

While you are obligated to make social security contributions based on your wealth and pensions when you retire early, this is not the case with 3a savings contributions.

In order to deduct contributions to 3a savings from your taxable income you must earn an income on which social security contributions are levied. So the last year in which you earn a salary is the last year in which you can make tax-deductible contributions to your 3a retirement savings.

Best regards from Moneyguru
