I am 50% disabled and have been receiving a Swiss disability pension for several years now. Luckily, I have managed to find a part-time job (30%) which pays around 1000 francs per month. Will I be able to begin contributing to my second pillar pension savings again or is my salary too low?

Hi there,

Individuals who do not receive a disability pension are only automatically subscribed to a 2a occupational pension fund when their annual salary exceeds 21‘150 Swiss francs (2017 threshold).

However, that threshold is decreased by 50% for partially disabled employees. Because your annual salary is higher than 50% of the threshold, you should be enrolled in an occupational pension fund.

Best regards from Moneyguru
