Hi there,

Whether or not insurance premiums can be deducted from taxable income depends primarily on the type of insurance in question.

Premiums for car insurance, motorcycle insurance, household insurance and most other forms of property insurance cannot be deducted.

Premiums for health insurance, accident insurance and life insurance are tax deductible.

The maximum deductions for insurance premiums vary between cantons and are also affected by other factors (like whether the insurance is part of a retirement plan).

Best regards from Moneyguru
