Fundamental Analysis

Fundamental analysis, unlike standard chart analysis, aims to determine the “real value” of a stock by analyzing economic and structural facts about the company that issues it.

So-called “value investors” implement knowledge gained through fundamental analysis by buying securities which their analysis shows are under-valued.

Columbia University professor Benjamin Graham is said to be the founder of fundamental analysis. A number of well-known investors, including Warren Edward Buffett, studied under Graham.
