Within the scope of individual insurance: the policyholder. Within the scope of household insurance: the policyholder and those persons who live with him/her permanently in the same household. Additionally: children under the age of 26, even if they do not live in the same household.
Stamp taxes of 5 percent included. CHF 30 discount when taking out a combination legal protection insurance policy (private and traffic legal protection).
Choice of legal representation: the insurance company has the right to reject a lawyer proposed by the insured person. The insured person may then propose three lawyers from different law firms in the relevant jurisdiction, from which the insurance company can select the lawyer to be appointed.
Both parties can terminate the contract: at the latest 1 month before the main due date. After every insured event for which a claim is payable.
Minimum contract duration: 1 year. The contract will automatically renew for another year unless termination notice is given 1 month before the main due date.
The insurance coverage will be granted if the legal case arose after a waiting period of 60 days after the commencement of the insurance.
No minimum amount in dispute.

The Fortuna Hotline is available for legal information by telephone in all areas of law, regardless of whether a covered legal case exists.
Costs of mediation in Switzerland covered. Advance payment up to CHF 1000 for a lawyer. Translation and travelling expenses (legal case abroad): covered.
No reduction in benefits in the event of gross negligence (except in the case of driving while unfit to drive and speeding over 30 km/h net).
