Home insurance is one of the most popular insurance products in Switzerland. It generally bundles personal liability insurance and household insurance, although these can also be purchased individually.
As part of its representative insurance customer satisfaction survey, moneyland.ch asked home insurance customers to rate their satisfaction with their insurance providers. The results show that customers are equally satisfied with both insurance types. Both personal liability insurance and household insurance received average customer satisfaction ratings of 8.1 out of 10 points, which translates into a “very good” rating.
Older customers are the most satisfied
While satisfaction is high across all age groups, average customer satisfaction increases with age. The average customer satisfaction ratings for personal liability insurance are 7.8 points for the youngest age group (ages 18 to 25) and 8.4 points for the oldest age group (ages 50 to 74). The average across the middle age group (26 to 49 years old) is 8.0 points.
Age-based differences are similar for household insurance. Customers between 50 and 74 years old are the most satisfied, with an average rating of 8.4 points. Those between the ages of 18 and 25 are more critical, with a rating of 7.7 points. Satisfaction from customers between 26 and 49 years old sits in the middle, at 8.0 points.

The pattern is similar for household insurance. Here too, Mobiliar takes first place, with 8.5 points. Axa is next in line with 8.2 points, followed by Helvetia and Smile with 8.1 points each.
Methodology
The study is based on a representative online survey carried out by market research institute Ipsos for moneyland.ch in early 2026. The survey included 1500 participants between the ages of 18 and 74, across both French-speaking and German-speaking regions.
The 1500 participants rated their satisfaction with their current insurance providers on a scale of 1 (not at all satisfied) to 10 (completely satisfied). Participants also had the option of abstaining. Points are converted into ratings using this scale:
- 5 to 6 points: Sufficient
- 6 to 6.5 points: Satisfactory
- 6.5 to 8 points: Good
- 8 to 9 points: Very good
- 9 to 10 points: Excellent
