Music Streaming

Telecom

The term music streaming denotes the transfer and simultaneous reproduction of music. The term is most commonly used in reference to transferring digital audio data from one digital device to another and reproducing it on the recipient device as it is received. Common uses of digital audio streaming include Internet radio and music streaming services.

Audio streaming differs from audio downloading in that data is reproduced as it is being transferred rather than after it has been transferred in full. In streaming, transferred audio is typically only stored on the recipient device temporarily for reproduction.
