Pocket Wi-Fi

A pocket Wi-Fi is a device which connects to the Internet via a wireless local area network (WLAN). A pocket Wi-Fi acts as a hotspot through which smartphones, tablets, laptops and other devices can connect to the Internet.

Various Swiss mobile service providers offer data-only plans designed for use with Pocket Wi-Fi hotspots. These data plans are included in the moneyland.ch mobile plan comparison.

Pocket Wi-Fi devices are also useful for travelers. By simply purchasing a local SIM card in your destination country and inserting this into your pocket Wi-Fi, you can connect to the Internet at local rates while at the same time keeping your primary phone number activated in order to receive calls.
