Customer Satisfaction With Swiss Travel Insurance in 2026

March 10, 2026 - Dan Urner

A representative moneyland.ch survey shows that Swiss are generally satisfied with their travel insurance. But customer satisfaction ratings vary between insurers. There are also differences between customer age groups and genders.

Illness, accidents, or even war: There are many unforeseeable problems that can hit travelers and holidaymakers. Travel insurance can be used to insure against these and other risks.

Residents of Switzerland are generally content with their travel insurance providers, as a representative moneyland.ch survey shows. A total of 1500 participants across French-speaking and German-speaking regions were asked to rate their satisfaction with their travel insurance. The average customer satisfaction rating across all participants and insurers is 7.8 points, which translates into a “good” rating.

Satisfaction goes up with age

It is interesting to note that the older a customer is, the more satisfied they are with their insurance. While the average satisfaction rating across participants aged 18 to 25 is 7.3 points, the average rating for adults between the ages of 50 and 74 years old is 8.1 points. Participants between 26 and 49 years old rated their travel insurance providers with 7.8 points, on average – matching the average rating for all age groups combined.

Female participants are somewhat more satisfied with their travel insurance providers than male participants, with average ratings of 8.0 and 7.7 points respectively.

There are no notable differences between linguistic regions, with average travel insurance customer satisfaction ratings in French-speaking Switzerland being almost identical to those in German-speaking regions.

Very good ratings for TCS, Mobiliar, and Smile

The travel insurance from TCS has the highest customer satisfaction ratings (8.5 points), followed by Mobiliar (8.4 points), and Smile (8.0 points). All of these translate into a “very good” customer satisfaction rating. Zurich and Axa share fourth place, with 7.8 points each.
