Summer is the season of travel, but trips do not always go as smoothly as planned. Would-be travellers who happen to get sick or have an accident, for example, have to fall back on their travel insurance. In the spring of 2025, moneyland.ch conducted a representative survey in which participants were asked to gauge their satisfaction with their travel insurance providers.
The results show that on average, residents of Switzerland are positive about their travel insurance providers. The average customer satisfaction rating across all insurance companies is 7.6 out of 10 points, which translates into a “good” rating.
Satisfaction increases with age
Satisfaction varies between customer groups, with clear differences between age groups. Young participants between 18 and 25 years old are the most critical, giving their insurance providers 7.4 out of 10 points on average. The average satisfaction rating is 8.0 points for residents in the oldest age group (age 50 to 74), and 7.5 points for the middle age group (age 26 to 40).
Differences between genders
In terms of customer satisfaction with travel insurance, the differences between women and men are small. The average satisfaction ratings across female participants is only slightly higher than that of male participants, at 7.7 points compared to 7.6 points.
TCS has the highest customer satisfaction
TCS has the highest average customer satisfaction rating of all travel insurance providers, with 8.4 points. That translates into a “very good” rating. With 8.1 points, Mobiliar also qualifies for the “very good” rating. Zurich takes third place, with 7.9 points (“good”).
