CH Mobile is a new Sunrise subsidiary that is being launched with the promise of low pricing. The new carrier adds to Sunrise’s existing subsidiaries, Lebara, Swype, and Yallo, as well as its joint venture Aldi Suisse Mobile.
Two new mobile plans
Starting today, Sunrise’s new subsidiary CH Mobile is offering two mobile plans. Both of these plans give you unlimited calls and SMS messages within Switzerland for a flat fee. CHF Mobile does not charge any activation fees, and does not have any minimum contract terms.
The cheaper of the two plans includes 10 gigabytes of local mobile data for use within Switzerland per month. The more expensive offer includes unlimited local data for Switzerland, plus 3 gigabytes of roaming data – primarily for European countries.
How much do the new CH Mobile plans cost?
CH Mobile Start costs 19.90 francs per month. CH Mobile Plus costs 29.90 francs per month. The plans are being launched at special promotional prices of 9.90 and 14.90 francs per month respectively, with an initial welcome offer lowering the price of the offer with unlimited data to 9.90 francs per month.
The table below gives you an overview of the new CH Mobile plans.
Are the promotional discounts permanent?
How long the promotional offers and the welcome price will be offered is not yet known. But the company promises that the discounts on standard prices will apply for the life of the contract.
Why is Sunrise launching a new mobile carrier?
Sunrise is obviously responding to the growing competition in the low-cost segment of the Swiss telecom market. In recent years, independent carriers like Digital Republic, Galaxus Mobile, and Spusu, as well as Salt subsidiary Gomo, have introduced very affordable mobile plans. The Sunrise group was not positioned to compete in the low-cost market with its existing carriers.
The new CH Mobile carrier is positioned as a price tracker. In other words, the carrier tracks competition in the segment and prices its offers accordingly. According to CH Mobile, its customers can count on low prices or even the lowest prices available.
But there is one big difference between CH Mobile and budget carriers Digital Republic, Galaxus Mobile, Gomo und Spusu: CH Mobile has a relatively complicated pricing structure, with a standard price, promotional price, and welcome offer. Its competitors use simpler models, with Digital Republic and Galaxus Mobile no longer using promotional offers at all. Gomo and Spusu do change their prices occasionally, but only advertise one price.
The various pricing models make it difficult to gauge exactly how CH Mobile’s pricing compares with competing offers.
The graph below shows both the standard pricing, and the special promotional pricing for the cheapest mobile plan with unlimited calls and data for a flat fee, as per November 4, 2025.
Verdict by moneyland.ch telecom expert Ralf Beyeler
The launch of CH Mobile is a positive development in the sense that it brings a new player to the low-cost market segment. Up until now, Sunrise has largely stayed out of this market. Consumers will benefit from a large selection of low-cost mobile plans.
In my opinion, the launch of CH Mobile is a strategic decision by Sunrise by which it aims to keep customers who would otherwise migrate to other telecom service providers. That is why Sunrise is offering its cheapest mobile plans under an entirely new brand.
A new carrier with an unknown brand can take time to become established with consumers. Additionally, consumers are often hesitant to migrate to a new mobile carrier. But like many of its competitors, CH Mobile does not charge any activation fees.
I find it interesting that CH Mobile is the only carrier in the low-cost market segment that makes heavy use of special promotional offers. Having up to three different prices for the same mobile plan can be confusing to some consumers. Of course, Sunrise’s aim in using promotional offers is to attract as many new customers as possible. Time will tell whether this strategy will pay off.
