Residents of Switzerland value their credit cards – even very much so. That is the conclusion of the 2026 representative credit card customer satisfaction survey by moneyland.ch. The survey included 1500 participants across French-speaking and German-speaking regions.
The average score given for overall satisfaction is a high 8.1 points. That translates into a “very good” rating.
Rewards programs received the lowest ratings
A look at customer satisfaction with individual aspects of service reveals that customers most value the employees of their corresponding credit card issuers. The average rating for friendliness of employees is 8.0 points. Helpfulness of employees also receive 8.0 points, on average. Customers are also satisfied with the mobile apps offered by issuers, with the average customer satisfaction rating in this regards also being 8.0 points.
Credit card reward programs and complimentary insurance benefits received the lowest satisfaction ratings. With 7.4 points, this criteria still qualified for a “good” rating, but the rating is lower than any other aspect of credit card service. “Many card issuers place a strong emphasis on rewards and insurance benefits in their marketing, says moneyland.ch financial expert Ralf Beyeler. “With that in mind, it is surprising that this point did not receive a higher rating.”
It is important to mention that satisfaction with reward programs and insurance varies substantially between issuers. That makes sense because rewards and cardholder benefits vary between credit cards. The Migros Cumulus Visa and American Express credit cards have the most satisfied users in this regard. All have an average rating of 7.9 points. Customers of Postfinance (6.8 points) and Swiss Bankers (7.0 points) are notably less satisfied with their cardholder rewards and insurance benefits.
These credit cards have the highest customer satisfaction ratings
The Migros Cumulus Visa card stands out with a final customer satisfaction rating of 8.5 points. It is followed by the Certo credit card from Cembra Money Bank, with 8.3 points. Next in line are credit cards from Cornèrcard, the cantonal banks, and Raiffeisen.
Methodology
The study is based on a representative online survey carried out by market research institute Ipsos on behalf of moneyland.ch. The survey, conducted in early 2026, included 1500 participants between the ages of 18 and 74. Participants were asked which payment cards they use, and how satisfied they are with their cards. Participants rated their satisfaction with seven different aspects of service:
- Overall satisfaction
- Helpfulness of employees when problems or loss occur
- Friendliness of employees
- Value for money
- Clarity of documents
- Mobile apps
- Rewards and insurance benefits
Participants rated their satisfaction with each aspect on a scale of 1 (not at all satisfied) to 10 (completely satisfied). There was also the option of abstaining. The following conversion scale is used for ratings:
- 5 to 6 points: Sufficient
- 6 to 6.5 points: Satisfactory
- 6.5 to 8 points: Good
- 8 to 9 points: Very good
- More than 9 points: Excellent
