My hearing has deteriorated somewhat and I need hearing aids to continue to function normally. Does Swiss health insurance cover the cost of hearing aids?

The cost of hearing aids is covered (up to certain limits) by the disability insurance provided by social security. Compulsory health insurance only covers the cost of hearing aids when these are medically required and you do not meet the requirements for coverage by social security disability insurance, as state in the list of covered aids MiGeL (Mittel- und Gegenstände-Liste).
