Hi there,

There are various job-related expenses which can be deducted from your taxable income within certain limits. These include:

  • The cost of a bicycle used to commute (flat deduction of 700 francs).
  • The cost of public transportation used to commute.
  • The cost of commuting by car (when certain requirements are met).
  • The cost of work-related continuing education (excluding intitial education).
  • The cost of workplace meals (various flat-rate deductions).
  • The cost of workplace clothing
  • The cost of tools (including computers) used in your workplace.
  • The cost of work-related literature.
  • Other deductions may apply

In many cases deductions can either be based on actual expenses when you provide proof (receipts, for example), or applied as flat-rate deductions when you cannot provide proof.

Best regards from Moneyguru
