GIPS is the abbreviated form of Global Investment Performance Standards.
This term refers to a set of standardized ethical principles which lets wealth managers and other financial intermediaries rate and prove their performance.
The goal of GIPS is the implementation of a united international standard for performance assessment. Wealth managers in over 30 countries have already adopted GIPS.
Created and issued by the CFA Institute, a U.S. association of financial professionals, GIPS certification is also available in Switzerland. Accreditation is supervised by the Schweizerische Bankievereinigung (SBVg).
