Choice of hospital and doctor:

Full coverage throughout Switzerland in the general wards of all listed hospitals with a service mandate and recognized tariff. Multi-bed room.

Notice period:

The insurer can terminate the contract at the latest 3 months before the end of the contract or calendar year.

Premiums and discounts:

Amount of premiums varies depending on the age, place of residence and gender of the insured person. 3% discount when taking out a 3-year contract (for new customers). At least 5 per cent family discount.
Premiums for over-65s are a maximum of 3x the premiums for 30-year-olds and for over-70s a maximum of 4x the premiums for 30-year-olds.

Spa and convalescent therapy:

For medical reasons and prescribed by a doctor in a recognized spa: Up to CHF 30 per day for up to 30 days per calendar year for spa treatments and convalescent cures in Switzerland. The minimum duration of a spa treatment is 14 days.

Maternity:

The costs for the stay of the healthy newborn are covered for the duration of the mother's stay in hospital. Waiting period: 365 days.

Rooming in:

No coverage.

Home help:

Up to CHF 30 per day for up to 30 days per calendar year for medically prescribed home help.

Home care:

No coverage.

Emergency transport costs:

Available within the supplemental outpatient insurance by Helsana.

Search and rescue costs:

Available within the supplemental outpatient insurance by Helsana.

Repatriation:

Available within the supplemental outpatient insurance by Helsana.

Hospital abroad:

In the event of an emergency treatment abroad (or with cost confirmation), you will be paid up to CHF 500 per day for up to 60 days per calendar year for costs that exceed the cover provided by basic insurance.

Rehabilitation stationary:

Not specified.

Psychiatry:

Maximum 90 days per calendar year, if there is no chronic disease.
No coverage is given for stays in psychiatric day and inpatient clinics.

Additional services:

Intensive and transitional care (CHF 90 per day, maximum 14 days per calendar year).
KidsCare and nanny service (maximum 30 hours each per calendar year).
