General

General information:

Coverage of Helsana Top in Switzerland and abroad.

Notice period:

The insurer can terminate the contract at the latest 3 months before the end of the contract or calendar year.

Premiums and discounts:

There is a discount for taking out a 3-year contract (for new customers). Family discount: 5-10%. Premiums depend on various factors such as age, gender and place of residence. Premiums for over-65s are a maximum of 3x the premiums for 30-year-olds and for over-70s a maximum of 4x the premiums for 30-year-olds.

Glasses and contact lenses:

Cost contribution to eyeglass lenses, contact lenses and vision aids: 90 percent up to CHF 150 per calendar year.
Benefits for visual aids covered by obligatory health insurance are subtracted from the above amount.

Vaccinations:

Not covered.

Preventative examinations:

Not covered.

Gym memberships:

Not covered.

Medicines:

90 percent for medicines accepted by Swissmedic. Up to 50% according to list of Helsana group.

Alternative medicine:

Not covered.

Psychotherapy:

Non-physician psychotherapy (if no claims are covered by basic insurance): 75 percent up to CHF 3000 per calendar year together with ligation and correction of protruding ears.

Search & rescue in Switzerland:

Emergency transportation, search and rescue coverage up to up to CHF 100,000 per calendar year.

Search & rescue abroad:

Full emergency cover for rescues, transportation and repatriation to Switzerland.

Medical costs abroad:

Full coverage in case of emergency treatments in case of an illness or accident abroad.

Tooth misalignment treatments:

Treatment of tooth misalignment up to the age of 20: 75 percent up to CHF 10,000 per calendar year.
Contributions to the costs of school or youth dental care are taken into account.

Dental treatments:

Not covered.

Spa & convalescent therapy :

Not covered.

Equipment:

Coverage of 90 percent with a maximum of CHF 1000 per calendar year.

Sterilization:

75 percent up to CHF 3000 per calendar year, together with psychotherapy and correction of protruding ears.
