OECD

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an organization whose stated goal is to foster economic cooperation and development. The OECD has more than 30 member countries which pursue economic and political goals together.

The OECD developed from the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation (OEEC), and was founded in 1961. Switzerland is a founding member of the OECD. Unlike the OEEC, the OECD is not focused strictly on Europe, and countries on various continents participate in the organization.
