With immediate effect, Swisscom sub-brands Coop Mobile, Migros Mobile, and Wingo are lowering their prices for data roaming bundles. Users of Swisscom-branded mobile plans, on the other hand, will not pay less for mobile roaming.
The new prices apply to all data roaming bundles purchased after March 18, 2026. Existing bundles purchased before that date will remain valid, but the price changes do not apply in arrears.
Coop Mobile now offers the same data roaming bundles as Migros Mobile and Wingo. As is already the case with Migros Mobile and Wingo, these data bundles are now valid for one year with Coop as well. Previously, Coop Mobile’s bundles did not have an expiration date.
How much do data roaming bundles cost now?
A one-gigabyte (1024 megabyte) bundle for roaming in the “Europe” zone now costs 7.90 francs. There is also a five-gigabyte bundle for 24.90 francs, and a 10-gigabyte bundle for 34.90 francs. The pricing for data roaming bundles for other regions has also changed. You can get an overview of the new data roaming bundles in the table below.
How big are the price cuts?
The price reductions are substantial. Data roaming bundles from Migros Mobile and Wingo now cost up to 50.3 percent less than they did previously. In other words, some bundles now cost just half of the previous price. The pricing of Migros Mobile and Wingo bundles for roaming in the “Rest of the world” zone have not been changed.
The price cuts at Coop Mobile are even bigger. Bundles for the “Europe” zone have been lowered by 60.5 percent. The 500-megabyte bundle for the “World 2” zone now costs 63.8 percent less – the biggest of all the price cuts. Coop Mobile has also reduced its data bundle pricing for the “Rest of the world” zone: Instead of a 250-megabyte bundle for 95 francs, it now offers a 100-megabyte bundle for 29.90 francs. In terms of megabytes, that equates to a 21.3-percent price reduction.
The graphic below shows you both the former and the new pricing for 1000 to 10,000 megabytes (one to 10 gigabytes) of roaming data for the “Europe” zone.
A look at this evaluation reveals interesting facts: On average, one gigabyte (1000 megabytes) of roaming data now costs 6.24 francs. Formerly, the cost was 11.16 francs at Migros Mobile and Wingo, and 21.19 francs at Coop Mobile.
How the new offers compare with other carriers
Coop Mobile, Migros Mobile, and Wingo are now among the cheapest carriers for data roaming. Swisscom’s subsidiaries now charge less for roaming bundles for various zones than Swisscom itself does.
Ralf Beyeler from moneyland.ch calculated the costs of using data roaming bundles for the “Europe” zone (all EU countries) across one year, for between 1000 and 10,000 megabytes of data. Spusu is the cheapest carrier in this regards, with an average price of 3.91 francs per gigabyte (1000 megabytes). It is closely followed by Coop Mobile, Migros Mobile, and Wingo, all of which charge 6.24 francs per gigabyte.
Swisscom is more expensive, at 8.41 francs per gigabyte, followed by Sunrise with 10.63 francs, and Salt with 14.14 francs for most EU countries and 20.95 francs for the remaining EU countries.
In addition to zone-based bundles, Swisscom itself has a strong focus on country-specific bundles that can only be used in one country. These bundles cost 5.34 francs per gigabyte, on average.
Verdict by moneyland.ch telecom expert Ralf Beyeler
This is a very good development. The previous arrangement, where Swisscom’s budget subsidiaries charged much more for roaming data than Swisscom itself did, was paradoxical. Swisscom has now corrected that.
From a customer perspective, it would have been great if Swisscom would also have lowered its prices.
The price reductions for customers of Coop Mobile is welcome news, as that carrier’s former pricing for roaming was very high. One reason for the higher price is the fact that Coop Mobile’s roaming bundles do not expire. Now, the prices are identical to those of Migros Mobile and Wingo, but the customer-friendly setup with no expiry remains in place.
Now it is the competition’s turn. It is simply a question of when other carriers will react. Sooner or later, carriers that were previously among the cheapest options for data roaming bundles – such as Digital Republic and Galaxus Mobile – will have to respond to Swisscom’s sub-brand offensive.
Update March 30, 2026: The original version stated that Coop Mobile packages have no expiration date. This incorrect information was based on an erroneous product overview on the Coop Mobile website.
