General information:

Private Legal Protection: Worldwide coverage. Traffic legal protection: Europe-wide coverage. The legal protection insurance is provided by Protekta. VCS Membership mandatory.

Insured persons:

Private individuals are insured. Within the scope of individual insurance: the policyholder. Within the scope of household insurance: the policyholder and those persons who living permanently with him/her in the same household. In addition: children in education who regularly return to his household as weekly residents.

Insurance rate (comments):

Additional membership fee. Stamp taxes of 5 percent included.

Choice of legal representation:

Choice of legal representation: the insurance company has the right to reject a lawyer proposed by the insured person. The insured person may then propose three lawyers from different law firms in the relevant jurisdiction, from which the insurance company can select the lawyer to be appointed.

Termination of contract:

Cancellation possible on the part of the insurance company: Before the end of the insurance year for the following year. After an insured event has been paid. If facts of risk have been concealed. In the event of a significant increase in risk. In the event of intentional causation or fraudulent substantiation of the insurance claim.

Contract duration:

Minimum contract duration: 1 year. Without termination the contract renews at the end of the term.

No waiting period.

Personal legal protection (comments):

Cover in accordance with VCS Legal Protection.

Driver legal expense coverage:

Civil damages law, Assistance to victims, Criminal law, Insurance law, Disqualification from driving, Vehicle contract law

Motor legal protection (comments):

Exclusion: If the driver was not authorized to drive the vehicle. When acquiring or re-acquiring a driver’s license.

Legal protection advisory services:

Personal law, Family law, Inheritance law

Legal protection advisory (comments):

Legal advice cover in the area of personal, family (excluding marriage and divorce law) and inheritance law: One consultation up to a maximum of CHF 300 per insurance year. Coverage limited to Switzerland.

General coverage:

Lawyers' fees, Travel expenses, Court fees, Counterparty's fees, Mediation, Expert reports, Penalty order

Additional services:

Costs of mediation covered. Translation and travelling expenses (legal case abroad): covered up to CHF 5000.
