Choice of hospital and doctor:

Free choice of ward in all hospitals in Switzerland recognized by Atupri. Free choice of doctor in the semi-private and private ward.

Notice period:

The insurer can terminate the contract at the latest 3 months before the end of the contract or calendar year.

Premiums and discounts:

Amount of premiums varies depending on the age, place of residence and gender of the insured person. There is a discount for early payment. The premiums for 2026 are shown here.
Co-payments semi-private ward: 20 per cent (max. CHF 2000 per calendar year). Co-payments private ward: 30 per cent (max. CHF 4000 per calendar year).
A longer minimum contract term of three years can be selected when taking out insurance. A premium discount is granted for the first longer minimum contract term.
The last age class change is at age 70.

Spa and convalescent therapy:

No coverage.

Maternity:

Costs for healthy new born babies not covered by basic insurance (semi-private or private ward).
Family room: CHF 50 per day. Per birth for a maximum of 5 consecutive days.

Rooming in:

No benefits.

Home help:

No benefits.

Home care:

No benefits.

Emergency transport costs:

No benefits.

Search and rescue costs:

Repatriation:

Hospital abroad:

Worldwide cover only for emergency treatments.

If an inpatient stay in an acute hospital can be avoided by a more cost-effective outpatient procedure, Atupri will cover the costs within the framework of the agreement made with the hospital/partial inpatient facility concerned.
